I believe that trust, connection and mutual respect are the cornerstones of successful counseling and coaching experiences, which is why I offer a free phone or in-person consultation to determine if our personalities and styles are a good fit. During the initial consult, we can also talk through what has you seeking therapy and/or coaching to determine which approach we’ll take, at least initially. Often, clients begin in counseling to work through specific issues, develop acceptance and discover deep healing. When they feel prepared and motivated to take their lives, careers and/or relationships to the next level, many then begin working with me as their life coach. Others move on after therapy is complete, and still others only engage in coaching, without any therapy component. I’m flexible in my approach, and along every step of the process, your needs and goals are at the forefront.
The Initial Session
The purpose of the first session is for us both to get clear on what you want to accomplish by the completion of our work together. Together, we can set the immediate, midlevel and long-term goals that will shape the trajectory of your therapy and/or coaching experience. I generally ask that clients commit to at least six sessions, and come the sixth, we’ll evaluate your progress, check in on our relationship, tweak processes if needed and decide how to proceed. I often compare this stage of the therapy/coaching process to that of going to the Moon. You create a strategic plan, you aim for the end goal and you inevitably have to tweak systems and strategies along the way to actually get there.
Payment
I accept cash, checks, credit cards and PayPal. I ask that all payments are made in advance or at the beginning of a session.
For therapy services, I can provide you with a receipt/invoice upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network care reimbursement.
For coaching services, depending on the type of coaching and your particular business, sessions can sometimes be a business tax write-off. If you determine this is the case, I can provide you with an invoice for your records.
Scheduling, Policies and Location
During the consultation, we can schedule the initial session. I’m generally able to get new clients in within a week. I do not prescribe to normal, set hours. Scheduling is flexible and based on clients’ needs.
Therapy sessions typically last 60 minutes. Coaching sessions are extremely flexible, and the schedule we create will be tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. I offer 4, 8 and 12-hour coaching packages, which can be broken down and used in increments as small as 20 minutes. I also offer coaching sessions in-person (in my office, at your workplace or out in the world, depending on the type of coaching), by phone and online.
I ask that you cancel any appointment you cannot make at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full rate. I also understand that life happens, so an occasional last minute cancellation due to an emergency or sudden illness will not result in a charge. That said, I work hard to be punctual, offer clients my full attention and deeply respect your time. I also believe that accountability is an essential part of personal growth. I ask that you reciprocate this commitment.
I have a light, warm and comfortable corner office located at 950 Wadsworth Blvd. #351, Denver, CO 80214. The building is on a bus route and two blocks from the light rail. There are also two parking lots in the vicinity where you can park for free.
